Autofill - Persist previous field mapping choices
As a Rule Designer user it’s likely you are often changing the rule mappings between your tiles. The decision I made last time is likely to be the decision I would like to apply this time.
The Autofill functionality in field mapping allows previous decisions to be applied making it much easier to map fields.
We remember the decisions made for this specific field in this client and target.
When you open the field mapping screen you will see some fields have failed validation. Either they do not have a field mapped or they have not been selected to be a constant or unmapped.
Please select the fields you wish to autofill by clicking on the "Select Fields" option located at the top left. Alternatively, you can simply click on "Autofill" to update all the fields with the saved values.
You have the option to choose "All" fields, only the "Invalid" ones, or "None" to deselect any previously selected fields. If it's easier for you, you can manually select or deselect the fields you want to map.
Next, click on the "Autofill" button at the top right.
When you click on "Autofill," we will consider the decision you made for these fields during the last mapping and apply the same logic. If a specific field mapping exists, it will be used. If you chose to use a constant value or not to map it, those choices will also be applied.
As you are aware, we autofill when fields match by name. This logic will remain intact.
If there is no mapping or decision for a field, even after applying the persisted values, the field will continue to be highlighted with a red exclamation mark, indicating that further work is required to complete the mapping
When we have autofilled the field we show a yellow “A” to show that this has been changed as part of the autofill process.
Work through the fields until they are all showing as valid.
