Rules Designer

Autofill - Persisting field mapping selections

As a Rule Designer user it’s likely you are often changing the rule mappings between your tiles. The decision I made last time is likely to be the decision I would like to apply this time.

The new Autofill functionality in field mapping allows previous decisions to be applied making it much easier to map fields.

When you click on Autofill we will take the decision you made for these fields last time you mapped it and apply the same logic. If it was a specific field mapping and the mapping exists this will be used. If a constant or the choice of no mapping this will be applied. This should make the field mapping process much more efficient.

Improvements to the Switch Case funcionality and Prioritisation

You may have fields in the flow of your rule that contains delimited values. We now provide a mechanism to split out the delimited values before switching on the values found.

In the majority of cases when switching you only have a single value to switch on. Other fields may contain multiple values that . How do you choose which one to switch on if they belong to more than one?

In the switch cases screen you can prioritise the the case values allowing you to put the most important ones at the top and the least important and default values at the bottom.

Testing, changes to request tab

Logging Granularity moved to its own tab from the Query Parameters tab.

Test Description now shows as a tooltip

As you work through the tests in test runner it's important to understand what they have been built to test. The descripion can hold this information in a human readable form. The description can now be seen as a tooltip as you hover over the Test row in test runner to provide a simple view on what it does.

Email Manager integration now supports marketing sends

Our Email Manager integration now provides two ways of sending Email Manager emails through Rule Designer:

We already support transactional deployments. This is for transactional emails only and should not be used for marketing emails. These email campaigns go out quickly but they circumvent the preferences and unsubscribes that are required for marketing campaigns.

The new Marketing function is slightly slower but will honour preferences and health scores held in email manager if the correct primary key is selected.

Global Parameters

Rename and Save As

We now allow a Global Parameter to be renamed and we now provide save as within the Global Parameters screen to allow Global Parameters to be copied and re-used.

Changing a Global Parameter name can have a significant impact on your rules so any renaming should be done with caution.

Admin Column

For users that are able to see the Admin controls in Global Parameters we now have a column showing those rules that use the Admin flag.

Cache Report

Cache Report now provides TTL amd write time in the downloadable version

Rule Groups

Redesign

The Rule Groups screen has been redesigned to make it easier to use. The rules page now shows the description so it's easier to understand the purpose of the Rule Group. A clietn filter has been added.

The configuration screens now sit in a series of tabs to make it easier to find what you need.

Templates

Template Usage

When you upload a template into Alterian CX you will either be loading a new template or loading an updated version of an existing template. With the template updates it’s very likely you will want to understand where the template is used so you can update the template in place ensuring your rules are using the best version.

The Template usage screen in the Template configuration screen provides this to you. It shows the rules using the template, the status of the Rule, which client and target it sits in and whether the version in the rule is up to date.

The version number is clearly shown. The current version number is displayed beside this, the Latest Version column shows whether the template version in the rule is the latest version or not. You can open the rules directly from this screen.

Improved Template Builder integration

You can now open templates directly in Template Builder from the templates screen and the template configuration screen in Rule Designer.

You now initiate a new Template Builder instance from the Templates screen rather than the help screen.

Template Builder focus

Various functions have been removed from template builder that were not required for use in Alterian CX. We have also renamed some of the funcitonality to make it easier to understand.

Public Templates

Journey Analytics

Journey Discovery

The Journey Discovery process uses Machine Learning to analyse the multi-channel sessions (Conversations) performed by Customers or Visitors to a brand and finds Patterns or “Micro Journeys” of consecutive Locations that are occurring in the Conversation data.

Note: Using Journey Discovery requires a number of items or processes to be in place prior to its use. Journey Discovery should not be carried reviewing these, which are covered here.

The functionality then allows for visualisation of these in the Journey Visualisation Sankey, giving the analyst the chance to validate existing Journeys against real Customer Behaviour or discover Journeys that were previously unknown or undocumented, as well as being able to view KPI stats such as Revenue Service Cost and Customer Satisfaction within Journeys and flexibility to give weighting or ranking to each Journey to focus on any Journey.
