Alterian provide a plugin that makes it much easier for Template Builder and local Spoon users to access items and data from Alterian CX.
The plugin will sit in the top ribbon bar.

Configuration

This allows you to highlight the Alterian CX solution cluster you want to integrate with and then allows you to choose which one to use in each session.
First you will need to configure the connection. Click on add.
Then provide the following details:
Name: Your name for the solution and cluster you are integrating with. This could be the Alterian CX client name, location and target (See below) . Brand x (Europe) Dev
URL: The URL where the solution can be accessed. This will be provided as part of the handover process.
Client: The Alterian CX client you want to integrate with.
Target: The target within the client you want to integrate with.
Directory: Allow you to select a download directory on your local environment
Use subdirectory for types?
Use Remote Cache?: When selected allows your cache steps to connect directly to your standard cache. This allows you to use accurate data and makes the testing of rules and templates much easier.
When this is selected any cache steps in the template/rules will switch to use your selected solution.
Click on Ok.
This creates the integration.
Clicking back into configuration allows you to select a integration to a different client.

Browse

This allows you to search through various CX entities saved in any of your clients and download them for editing or review.
Select an entity of interest from the dropdown at the bottom. Options include:

  • Templates

  • Rules

  • Queue

  • Global Parameter

  • File

  • Recording

In the majority of cases our users will be editing or creating templates or triaging rules.
Once you have selected the entity of interest either search through the search box or use the folders to find the entity of interest.
Double click or click on Download at the bottom to request to download the entity.
You will be presented with three options

  • Directory: Allow you to select a download directory on your local environment

  • Overwrite existing files? : If the file already exists in the chosen folder overwrite.

  • Open files after download? : Once the entity has been downloaded automatically open in a new tab.

Best Practice

Runs the currently selected item through a series of Alterian validations and tests to ensure it has been developed in the best possible manner and does not contain any steps that are prohibited in Alterian CX.
This process will also automatically run when the item is loaded through the Upload function.

Upload

Allows templates created or edited to be loaded back into Alterian CX. This process will automatically run the best practice report as part of the upload process.

  • Template: Confirm the Template name

  • Client: Confirm the client where the templates should be loaded.

  • Also create rules? Automatically create a rule from the template being uploaded

  • Rule: If "Also create rules" is true then you can choose a rule name

  • Target: If "Also create rules" is true then you can choose target for the rule.

Reset Credentials

Allows you to add the cluster you want to connect to, and the API key required to access it.
