Adding Service cost to a tile
Setting the Service Cost
For each template added into Journey Orchestration you can set the Service Cost. You can select to add CPM rate – useful for Templates utilising out-bound channels like email, banner or SMS.
You can also add a Flat Rate – useful for call centre scripts, integrations etc.
When a service cost has been added to a template this value will be used whenever this Tempate is used in your Rule.
In the Template configuration screen you can adapt the service cost on a tile by tile basis. This is useful if you have an integration with differing costs depending on the output.
For example a call centre rule may provide two different scripts as a decision one long and one short. You can choose to adapt the service cost for each at a tile level. the longer script takes longer and therefore the cost should be higher.
How the Service Cost is calculated
As the Rule is invoked the Service Costs for each Tile used in the Rule in this sequence are summed together and this value is passed through in the event data to aid future calculations on success and segmentation.
As can be seen from the example below the Service Cost can differ signifcantly depending on the path the Rule takes. In this scenario the Service Cost for Rule one is £0.0070 for Bob and £5.0040 for Sue.
