Starting and Pausing your Rule

Once your Rule has been successfully saved you are able to start the Rule running.

This process takes the Rule as you have built it, loads it into the CX Engine making the invoke URL available allowing it to be invoked.

Until the Rule has been started you will not be able to test or use the Rule.

The Rule can be started in three locations. Through the API, through the Rules Screen or directly in Rule Designer.

In the Rule Screen click on the arrow next to the current status. For a new Rule the current status will be waiting.

The dropdown will allow you to choose to Start the Rule. This same dropdown menu allows you to pause a Rule. This will stop the Rule from being called. A paused rule sits in a Waiting state.

In Rule Designer the Ribbon bar has A dropdown to allow a Rule to be run or paused.

In each case when you attempt to start a Rule, confirmation will be provided that the Rule started correctly or an error message with instructions on how to resolve possible issues with your Rule will show.
